The MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) design is based on successful AREVA facilities in France, which produce MOX fuel for 30 European nuclear reactors, and has been modified to meet stringent U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements. Once operational, the MFFF will be capable of disposing of 3.5 metric tons of plutonium annually as it produces fuel for use in commercial nuclear power reactors. For additional information about the MOX Project and the people who are making it happen, take a look at these videos and photos.
